December Daily?

Happy Monday to you.

I have been diligently...ok trying to...work on my December Daily each day, but it's becoming a December weekly. I enjoyed putting it together and there were so many paper lines to choose from and I received a Christmas paper collection as part of a secret Santa swap. I must admit, I do enjoy the idea of journaling Christmas, but it seems like you have to make or plan things to do, otherwise it's a routine day.

I have gone to Downtown Disney looking for Christmas presents and had one of the best dinners for reasonable at Disney. Reasonable...and Disney? Yes. We ate at Earl of Sandwich and to my glorious surprise I liked it.  Their bread is amazing...it makes the sandwich. I had the roast beef with only cheese and bacon on it. OMG, I do not care for subs but it was so fresh. I also had the brownie with vanilla icing in it...de-lish. I enjoyed it over a 3-day period.

Walking around DDD during Christmas is so beautiful and of course for the most part everyone is happy.I think they used these same dolls last year. I think they are so cute. Now you do come into close proximity of parent's who are on the verge of crazy from dealing with tired, crying, and sometimes simply bad children. I think the children wear them down..lol

I will post some pictures of my December Daily pages soon. I have taken pictures but decided I will add them mostly at the end, but who knows I may add them (once I get them printed).

Hope everyone is having a great Monday.

Be blessed

Swaps at YPP

Happy Monday all. I have been busy with swaps and a few other things. I finally got my swaps out the door and I liked and enjoyed them all. I'm still learning. I need to visualize a project to the end and then start putting it together instead of working as I go along. I've been art journaling and am enjoying it. I now have multiple journals available for use. I cleaned my desk and found some old books that will work great.

I participated in 3 swaps, vintage Christmas cards, altered domino, and artsy envelopes.

I've also decided that I will join a mail swap group. Altering and making the envelopes is great. It gives me a chance to use of scrap papers, magazine pages, maps, etc. I'm looking forward to it. I've gotten a few names and hope to write about 5 letters this week.

I haven't in a while, but want to participate in an event at Scraps of Color. Not sure what yet.

Well here are the altered items I've made. Time to get started on Christmas cards. I added snowtex to each of them.

I wanted my postcards to be mailable as postcards so I kept them simple. The last on I got a bit stumped on.

The dominoes I wanted to do Christmas themes since there was no theme required. I luv the way they came out.

I added beads to the one on the left and the right. The center one I added glitter flakes.

I stamped sentiments on card stock and glued them to the back of the ribbons.

These are my envelopes. I like them all but must say the one on the top left is my fav. I like the dark sky colors and looks like the trees are in front of the sky. I used paints, napkins, watercolor crayons. I like them.

Hope you enjoyed the visit.

Be blessed.

Art Journaling

Hi all. I've been learning some new things and art journaling is one of them.  I love the creativity and freedom it gives. Nothing is wrong, nothing has to be perfect and I can create whatever. I had most of the items already except for a stencils. I learned a lot just from doing this one page. I also found a way to use up some Halloween paper I have. I am not big on Halloween, but n-tee-who here is my page.

I used paint from Michael's since I'm just trying this. I printed out the image on plain paper and started. My original thought was for wings behind him, but once I cut them out I could only find one on my desk.

OK, so what went wrong.
1. I don't like glossy mod podge.
2. I did not mode podge the entire page.
3. I used too much modge podge, hence the wrinkles in his face.
4. My rub-ons (play & laugh) got stuck to the page and covered up his name.

Kudos:

I luv the modeling paste
I luv the way it came together
Luv the elements that represent this young man
Luv that I used paper that I want to get rid off but incorporated on the page...I like them.

Overall, I am really proud of my 1st try. I so love that anything goes. The little mummy is from a swap at YPP. I have not decided what I'm going to journal today but have a few thoughts. I the matte collage pauge, which I will be trying...sure it will.

I think I'm going to have to stick a post it at my desk the things I want to journal so I do them and don't forget.

Well all, just wanted to share my 1st art journaling page.

Remember no matter what; this is the day that our Lord has made and I [we] shall rejoice and be glad in it.

toodles!

WOYWW 174

Good Morning

We're up and off to the races. I found this blog actually a while ago but was not a blogger but since blogging and carrying my crafting a bit further I decided to participate. I so enjoy reading about other crafters' projects, seeing their inspiration desks, and seeing that I'm not the only one who leaves a crafting trail.

The stuff on my desk needs to be organized. I emptied out a small crate that I originally purchased to organize and store my scraps but somehow it became a dumping ground for everything small. Well, I got it emptied and now have to find homes for them. The tags on the left need a home and right in from of them are some Maya Road and Michael's chipboard pieces that need a home. The fabric under the tag bag needs a home and so do the birds nest center stage. I also found in the stash some papers I had embossed but decided not to use for whatever reason and now make a some type of card with them. No need throwing good paper away.

You can see the blue baskets that should be for paper scraps, well right now the one on the table has other stuff in it and the one on the floor has "all" of the paper scraps. I originally wanted solid colors in one and the other would be for designs (floral, dots, masculine, butterfly, glittered, stripes, holiday, etc).

I first thought about putting those items in this bag and letting it hang, but did not like it. I "originally" bought this Ikea crochet bag to hang in my closet but it has yet to make it to the bedroom. So back to brainstorming.

Aside from cleaning my area, I need to begin working on some projects. The due date always comes before you know it and I usually end of changing my mind on how I want to put the project together.

Happy bloggers, walk in faith today and know that God is and God can. There is nothing too great for God, even when it seems too big for us [to handle]. Praying God shows up in the midst of our situation[s] and not only speaks a word but delivers us [again].

Be blessed

I'm a Disney Girl

Well, some people think they know you oh so well, but they don't. Well, my baby sis knows me well. She sent this to my family and we all knew who she was referring to.

When I got this all I could do was laugh. I SOOOOOOOOOOOO enjoy going to Disney. I could go everyday but my family does not feel the same way. I'm lucky if I get twice a month out of them.

Part time Disney partner 1

Part time Disney partner 2
So between the two, I try to get in a few Disney days. I don't think I've been since July and it is October...so I am wayyyyyyyy over due.
Right now is the Food and Wine Festival at Epcot and I will go for a bit. It is not one of my Disney top to do because I am very picky when it comes to food and different food textures. It's just something to do.

I don't have a favorite park or season, however, I think I enjoy the Osborne Spectacle of Dancing Lights and Christmas time at all the parks. Something about Christmas at Disney, it brings me joy. My sister, when she comes during Christmas we have to go.

I am a Disney girl who enjoys going to Disney, no matter the day rain or shine. So guess I have a Disney day coming.

For the Deacon

Good Morning, Good Morning, Good Morning.

Before I share my wonderful card, the season's are changing; in the spiritual realm along with everything else. God is so good that He ALWAYS...yes ALWAYS sends a word when you need it.

Before I share the scriptures of what God led me to...all I can say is, He sent His word and healed them [me], and delivered them [me] from their [my] destruction. Sometimes, we go before God asking Him for direction but want to move before we hear or grow impatient. I serve an amazing, merciful, and gracious Lord.

Galatians 6:9
Colossians 1:11-12 (NIV)
James 1: 2-4 (TLB)

On to the card. One of the Deacon's at my church is celebrating a milestone. I love him dearly and he is such a wonderful person. I know that he will love the card.  I had an idea in my head already inspired from the JustRite gallery.

Since his birthday is in the fall, i used lots of fall colors.

I stamped the leaves with the Shabby Chic Autumn Leaves and colored and distressed them with the colors above. I didn't want them shiny so I left them as they were. I had some leaves left over that I'm going to use for another project I'm working on.

I wanted the corners to stand out a bit so I glossy accented them and the frame on the inside.

I used the Spellbinders Antique Frame & Accents. Let me tell you, I wanted this die since I saw it. I tried finding it at Michael's and at Joann's but could not. I finally broke down and purchased it off eBay (which means no coupon), but I am so happy I did...it is so versatile and pretty.

Well, hope you all enjoyed the card and I hope my encouragement can help you in your walk also.

God be praised.

Using up Echo Park - Birthday Card

It's been a few folks birthday's around here and but I only made a couple of cards, yes 2. My coworker had previously asked me to make a card for her. I made a graduation card for her nephew (a huge challenge) and I was okayly (it's a word in my dictionary) pleased with the card. Again, I didn't take any pictures.

My coworker liked her birthday card i made while on vacation. I didn't want to do anything too elaborate. I used the Echo Park times & seasons paper. I was cutting the sheets to fit the card and happened to look down and see this: on the left.  OMG, I don't know what was before it, but it is not fitting for any card I can think of...lol so I guess I'll have to use another piece off of this one or maybe put a flower over it or sticker or something.

I only used one flower and some seam binding. I matted the inside also and put a strip across the bottom to make a pocket to insert a sentiment. I like making cards that can be passed along.

Well Happy Friday all and remember,

A word fitly spoken and in due season is like apples of gold in settings of silver. (Proverbs25:11)

Speak kindness and love into someone today.

Swaps at YPP

Happy Friday all.

Hope that your weekend is going tobe something great. Mine will be...starting off going fishing with my sweetie. If you know me, fishing is not me. Reason being, I remember when I was a child going fishing with my Grandmother, getting up early, sitting waiting for a fish to bite...and ultimately getting a hook caught in my finger. So we'll see how today goes. I DO NOT want to touch any nasty stinky worms.. yuck!!!

Well, I've been busy playing craft lady and having fun. I participated in my first swaps at Your Paper Pantry (YPP).  Unfortunately, I forgot to take pictures of my 2 swaps I participated in. I hope it's liked; what I did. The last one was an altered spoon project with Candyce. I tell you the truth; this was a fun challenge. At first I did not know which direction I wanted to go with it, but it came together. It really made me think and I used things I already had in my stash. I looked at my project at the end and thought that it looks like something you'd see in a store for maybe $12 or $20 dollars. I'm proud of myself...gw'on gurl!

I didn't use too many products on it, but it did take a while. I'm not the type (right now) that has a complete image in my head of the finished product. It comes together as I go along. I wanted it to be able to hang. The leaves are fall colors. The flowers are I Am Roses. I made the pin using beads I had on hand. The timeless is a part of a Stampin' Up stamp. The back is also finished with sentiment.

I inked the back because of the area was not covered and would be visible.

This is the back of the spoon. Even though I inked it, I wanted it to be pretty also.

Hope you all enjoyed the share.

Graphic 45 A Ladies Diary Card

Hi blog friends.

I am so far behind in updating my blog. I've been making cards and things, sometimes I take a photo of them and sometimes I do not (forget is more like it). I like to photograph them to look back at how my skills have changed and what styles I like.

I bought the 6x6 paper stack back in June July sometime and loved it. I made this card in July for a family member who was hosting the family reunion. I wanted it to be pretty and something she could proudly display. I enjoy making cards for people who appreciate the time and effort I put into them.  I would display this on my desk.

I finished off the inside of the card also. The papers in the Ladies Diary are so pretty. I like that the colors are soft. I also put a pocket on the bag and inserted a tag so everyone could sign the tag. This way if she wants to regift the card, she can.

For the diecuts, I used Spellbinders Parisian Motifs and Parisian Accents, I used one more, I think a fancy tags..i think. The bling is from Recollections. The flowers, I Am Roses, are so cute. I don't know the number of the roses. The flower in the top left I glimmer misted and then used clear embossing powder on it. I did not totally care for the way it came out but I will try it again to see what happens.

Hope you enjoyed the card.

Happy Crafting!

Ramdomness

Happy Thursday. one more day....

I have been busy and lazy....and enjoying both. I've also been crafting which beats all. I've learned that I create better (or can me be more focused) with classical & opera music playing. Some of the artist/tunes I found I enjoy are Anna Netrebko & Elina Garanca: flower duet...it sounds so beautiful. Yo-Yo Ma: air & simple gifts, Antonio Wit: Symphony No. 5 in E minor, Op. 64 : I. Andante - Allegro con anima, Anne Akiko Meyers, English Chamber Orchestra,  and on and on. I like being able to hear the different instruments, the crescendos. I don't know the term, but a heavier sounding instrument playing beneath a softer sounding tone; at that moment, hearing the songs duplicity... ahhhh, I am enjoying it!  I'm new to this so I am seeking out music to listen to. I don't think I'm ready or have the time to learn how to listen to opera, but I can still enjoy it.

I have made these cookies at least 6 times and how 'bout the previous time before this one I forgot to add the brown sugar and had to add it AFTER they had sat in the frig. Well, they did not turn out as I liked them but my family still enjoyed them. I put them on a vintage cake tray and what doesn't fit goes in a ziploc.  These cookies do not last long at my house. Thinking about it now, I may make another batch.

Well bloggers, just wanted to send an update. All is well and if it's not it will be.

Be God blessed!

Summer's End

Hello blog friends. Well, summer is almost over...where did it go so quickly? I remember the hot days, but not much else. Anyway, to celebrate [excuse to get together] some old and new friends got together. Thank you Rosa and Joyce for hosting. We always have a good time when. I enjoyed meeting some new people and always like making new friends.

You ever go to a friends home and feel like you're "at home"? That's how I feel at their home. We sat around, laughed, ate, talked, laughed some more, talked some more, and enjoyed each others company.

Helpers in the kitchen always make food better; especially when you get to simply site and enjoy.

This is our comedian. She keeps us laughing.
Enid, always ready.

Oh my goodness, on these two pictures I was trying to use the panoramic setting on my camera. I'm still learning it and I can see where the split was. Some people are not in the picture and some folks were split in half.  The automatic nor the manual setting seemed to match up 100%, but I think that is just user error. Or as a coworker used to say it's the ESTO setting (equipment smarter than operator). I'll figure it out...just hope i can remember the next time I need to use it though. :)

Of course a get together would not be complete with cards or dominoes. I'm not sure who won the game though.

I think these are the "talkers" from right to left. We were laughing about when we have prayer and some folks pray too long (it's a joke). But praying can be long winded at times. Thank God he answers though.

Sitting on the patio relaxing. A few folks went for a late nite swim, but I knew how I was without sleep so turned in early (if you consider past 10pm early). I awoke rested and I know they were glad.

We were missing one person from the picture. I did not think to take a group picture until we everyone was getting ready to leave.

Well I just wanted to share my weekend with you all. I have the greatest sisters and thank God for each of them. I'm looking forward to our next get together/outing. Hope the holiday was relaxing and enjoyed by all.

Have a great Tuesday.

Be blessed.

Beautiful Morning & Pages

Hi blog friends,

Hope everyone has been having a great week.  I have been relaxing and making a few cards. I have finally decided to do an Etsy page. At first I did not want to, but I've changed my mind. I'm looking forward to it; challenges and highs and all. I am also contemplating doing a smash book, but wonder when I'd have time and what I'd smash. I've watched a few YT videos and even thought of making my own. However, when I use a coupon at Michael's, it's cheaper and less time to just buy one.

I was browsing through a magazine this morning and some of the pages were just beautiful. I ripped them out and will use them in my smashbook (eventually). One of them was a cute idea of sewing tea towels together to form a runner. I ran the first 2 picture through PicMonkey; I like what it does.

I also tried the new Starbucks Refresher - Very Berry Hibiscus this morning and to my delight it was good. It is from a coffee extract, water, and blackberries...OMG. And to boot, no sugar added but naturally sweet. To get you back, they give you a coupon to use after 2. Most often, you'd buy something additional...but I will be trying to refresher and NOT buying anything else.

Well blog friends, just wanted to share my early day with you.

Speak what you desire over your day, over your family, and iover your life; not the situation(s). Allow God to let you be the blessing in someone elses life today. If you are reading this blog, you are already blessed. If you cannot see it, look around, examine your life.

...Thanking God for all the marvelous things He has done.
