Christmas Card Share

Hi crafters,

I've completed a few Christmas cards and am so glad to be doing some Christmas stuff. These will be going to people that I've done swaps with and a few family members. I have a few more to finish (since I die cut a butt load of paper) and I will be making different, more embellished ones for family.

I kept these pretty simple so I could get quite a few done and it worked. I enjoyed using paper pads I'd had for years. I emptied one 6x6 pad and have enough for 1 more card in another 6x6 pad, and I will have gotten rid of them both. yayyyyyyyyyyyyyy

On my WOYWW, I have a few more diecuts to use up. In my "crafting cup" is some homemade iced coffee. Let me preface this by saying, I am becoming a coffee snob and do not like bitter coffee or coffee that smells like wet cigarette ashes. I found this recipe at the Pioneer Woman. Not sure if the cold brew eliminated the burn taste, but this iced coffee is DE-LI-CIOUS.

I'm happy with the amount of cards I've completed. This mess produced all of these beautiful cards.

 The festive gent...I really like him.

 Used some stickers and sequins and the left card and the right one I used a Tim Holtz die with the Recollections Cozy Lodge paper.

 I used a Stamping Up bird punch, MME paper and on the right I used a stamp that this was my first time using even though I've had it forever.

 The card on the left with the gold snowflake is made using scraps that were laid on the diagonal and trimmed. I liked being able to use up those scraps.

 I used a large piece of ribbon to make this card and stamped the Merry Christmas (keep it simple).  The bird is from one of the Michaels $1.50 pack of cards that I trimmed and mounted onto cardstock.

 I used a justrite stamp, a piece of burlap, and a die cut on top of this beautiful piece of cardstock. The right card is using scraps.

 I pulled out a stamp set that I've had for years, embossed and just a few embellishments.

Working on Christmas Cards

yayyyyyyyyyyy,

I am so happy to finally begin working on some Christmas cards. I've pulled out my Christmas stamps, baubles, ephemera, and stuff and am ready to go. This was prompted by a challenge on a Facebook group to make Christmas tags. Since my Christmas items were already out and I knew I wanted to get started making Christmas cards...what better time.

WOYWW you asked?!! Well it seems whenever I craft, my desk morphs into a total mess, stuff gets buried, and I waste time looking for it.

I will be pulling a collapsible table into my craft room to set stuff on so not to overcrowd by desk and be unable to find things. I will have to cover it because we use for seating during the holidays.

I've only completed 3 cards using up scraps. I'm not ready to break into another pad and add to the scrap pile. I'm off to a good start. Last year I had the idea to make Christmas cards, but that did not happen [at all].

Well back to Christmas Card making.

My Desk...is a Mess

Good Morning All,

I always wait to the last minute to participate on the WOYWW blog, at least as far as taking the picture. I need to set a reminder in my phone. Wednesday comes at the same time each week; go figure.

I've been working on a mini album for a week now. I cannot seem to get an entire day in on this thing. Today, I have at least 3 more pages to cover and hopefully by tomorrow or Friday I can get it in the cover. I'm using the DCWV The Primrose stack. This paper is so pretty and girly. I had 3 packs but took one back. From each stack I think I can get 2 large (med) minis and a few small ones from the scraps.

 

Looking at this picture now, I can see that the lamp and the caddy are taking up a lot of valuable desk space. Organizing is a never ending task.

What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 240

Good Morning Ladies,

Today I'm participating in Stamping Ground's WOYWW.  I enjoy checking out crafting that's going on elsewhere, I enjoy seeing the messy desks, the flow of creativity trapped in the rooms of the crafters, and knowing that when they are crafting they are enjoying it and being filled with joy and happiness. Even when we get frustrated when something does not turn out the way we told/wanted it to, crafting is our fresh air, our fun place.

Still [trying to] get my craft room organized. I ordered a few Whimsy stamps a few weeks ago and decided to pull them out and play with them. I'm still learning how to not get bleed thru with my copics.  I was also trying to put up a pegboard over my art journaling desk, but my screws were not long enough so I took it down until I can get to the hardware store.

Well here are my desks.

 

This is my art journaling desk. It's the first desk I had and the top has paint stains. I've since (after the paint) put a plexi glass on top and on top I that I put packaging paper for paint drips and that piece will eventually be cut down to be used in journal. The peg board will be on the wall behind (hopefully by Fri/Sat). Desk is in the middle of transition/cleaning

 

I use this desk for "clean" projects. The pile of notebooks on the left are being worked on. They will be altered notebooks for Valentine's Day. See the one under the eraser, I'm going to paint and alter 4 more...this one was the test tummy. The rack holding up the glue storage came from the other desk. Why can't organizing be done once and for all? Well today is not a craft day, but I'm working on cleaning and organizing my closet.

 

I put up 2 Ikea racks for my purses but think I need one more. This is just one of them.

WOYWW #220

Hi WOYWWers..

i'm so glad to be crafting in the midst of preparing to move in a month or so. I know it won't last long; I should be packing instead of crafting.  I'd luv to be adding maybe 2 more projects to the table but I won't..at least not today [hahahah] tomorrow may be a different story.

right now I'm completed a swap for YPP. Since I knew I'd be busy I only chose one swap. I'd luv to have participated in the journal swap or the mail art swap or altered Altoids swap or maybe even the die cuts.

i should have mine done by today. Unfortunately, my ink pad is either used up or drying out. Trying to stamp without smearing is tough; especially on the larger stamps. See the girl with Halloween to the left; i stamped her 3 times and each time a tiny smear was somewhere on the paper.  i'll keep it and use it for my art journal or do something with her. no need in wasting her/them.. there is a pile of misstamps under her that will be used in my journal.

i need that thingy that you push down and you can see through it for the larger stamps.
i also need to be completing a card for my niece who is turning 5. I will get it done tomorrow...nothing too fancy.

 This should be called what craziness do you notice on the desk..See how many you can find.

 

Now this picture, see I don't like pulling out my camera so I used my daughter's iPhone and tried to use panoramic. My desk is not curved nor was it ever. I don't know why panoramic curves things...or was it me?

WOYWW 174

Good Morning

We're up and off to the races. I found this blog actually a while ago but was not a blogger but since blogging and carrying my crafting a bit further I decided to participate. I so enjoy reading about other crafters' projects, seeing their inspiration desks, and seeing that I'm not the only one who leaves a crafting trail.

The stuff on my desk needs to be organized. I emptied out a small crate that I originally purchased to organize and store my scraps but somehow it became a dumping ground for everything small. Well, I got it emptied and now have to find homes for them. The tags on the left need a home and right in from of them are some Maya Road and Michael's chipboard pieces that need a home. The fabric under the tag bag needs a home and so do the birds nest center stage. I also found in the stash some papers I had embossed but decided not to use for whatever reason and now make a some type of card with them. No need throwing good paper away.

You can see the blue baskets that should be for paper scraps, well right now the one on the table has other stuff in it and the one on the floor has "all" of the paper scraps. I originally wanted solid colors in one and the other would be for designs (floral, dots, masculine, butterfly, glittered, stripes, holiday, etc).

I first thought about putting those items in this bag and letting it hang, but did not like it. I "originally" bought this Ikea crochet bag to hang in my closet but it has yet to make it to the bedroom. So back to brainstorming.

Aside from cleaning my area, I need to begin working on some projects. The due date always comes before you know it and I usually end of changing my mind on how I want to put the project together.

Happy bloggers, walk in faith today and know that God is and God can. There is nothing too great for God, even when it seems too big for us [to handle]. Praying God shows up in the midst of our situation[s] and not only speaks a word but delivers us [again].
