For the Deacon

Good Morning, Good Morning, Good Morning.

Before I share my wonderful card, the season's are changing; in the spiritual realm along with everything else. God is so good that He ALWAYS...yes ALWAYS sends a word when you need it.

Before I share the scriptures of what God led me to...all I can say is, He sent His word and healed them [me], and delivered them [me] from their [my] destruction. Sometimes, we go before God asking Him for direction but want to move before we hear or grow impatient. I serve an amazing, merciful, and gracious Lord.

Galatians 6:9
Colossians 1:11-12 (NIV)
James 1: 2-4 (TLB)

On to the card. One of the Deacon's at my church is celebrating a milestone. I love him dearly and he is such a wonderful person. I know that he will love the card.  I had an idea in my head already inspired from the JustRite gallery.

Since his birthday is in the fall, i used lots of fall colors.

I stamped the leaves with the Shabby Chic Autumn Leaves and colored and distressed them with the colors above. I didn't want them shiny so I left them as they were. I had some leaves left over that I'm going to use for another project I'm working on.

I wanted the corners to stand out a bit so I glossy accented them and the frame on the inside.

I used the Spellbinders Antique Frame & Accents. Let me tell you, I wanted this die since I saw it. I tried finding it at Michael's and at Joann's but could not. I finally broke down and purchased it off eBay (which means no coupon), but I am so happy I did...it is so versatile and pretty.

Well, hope you all enjoyed the card and I hope my encouragement can help you in your walk also.

God be praised.

Using up Echo Park - Birthday Card

It's been a few folks birthday's around here and but I only made a couple of cards, yes 2. My coworker had previously asked me to make a card for her. I made a graduation card for her nephew (a huge challenge) and I was okayly (it's a word in my dictionary) pleased with the card. Again, I didn't take any pictures.

My coworker liked her birthday card i made while on vacation. I didn't want to do anything too elaborate. I used the Echo Park times & seasons paper. I was cutting the sheets to fit the card and happened to look down and see this: on the left.  OMG, I don't know what was before it, but it is not fitting for any card I can think of...lol so I guess I'll have to use another piece off of this one or maybe put a flower over it or sticker or something.

I only used one flower and some seam binding. I matted the inside also and put a strip across the bottom to make a pocket to insert a sentiment. I like making cards that can be passed along.

Well Happy Friday all and remember,

A word fitly spoken and in due season is like apples of gold in settings of silver. (Proverbs25:11)

Speak kindness and love into someone today.

Swaps at YPP

Happy Friday all.

Hope that your weekend is going tobe something great. Mine will be...starting off going fishing with my sweetie. If you know me, fishing is not me. Reason being, I remember when I was a child going fishing with my Grandmother, getting up early, sitting waiting for a fish to bite...and ultimately getting a hook caught in my finger. So we'll see how today goes. I DO NOT want to touch any nasty stinky worms.. yuck!!!

Well, I've been busy playing craft lady and having fun. I participated in my first swaps at Your Paper Pantry (YPP).  Unfortunately, I forgot to take pictures of my 2 swaps I participated in. I hope it's liked; what I did. The last one was an altered spoon project with Candyce. I tell you the truth; this was a fun challenge. At first I did not know which direction I wanted to go with it, but it came together. It really made me think and I used things I already had in my stash. I looked at my project at the end and thought that it looks like something you'd see in a store for maybe $12 or $20 dollars. I'm proud of myself...gw'on gurl!

I didn't use too many products on it, but it did take a while. I'm not the type (right now) that has a complete image in my head of the finished product. It comes together as I go along. I wanted it to be able to hang. The leaves are fall colors. The flowers are I Am Roses. I made the pin using beads I had on hand. The timeless is a part of a Stampin' Up stamp. The back is also finished with sentiment.

I inked the back because of the area was not covered and would be visible.

This is the back of the spoon. Even though I inked it, I wanted it to be pretty also.

Hope you all enjoyed the share.

Graphic 45 A Ladies Diary Card

Hi blog friends.

I am so far behind in updating my blog. I've been making cards and things, sometimes I take a photo of them and sometimes I do not (forget is more like it). I like to photograph them to look back at how my skills have changed and what styles I like.

I bought the 6x6 paper stack back in June July sometime and loved it. I made this card in July for a family member who was hosting the family reunion. I wanted it to be pretty and something she could proudly display. I enjoy making cards for people who appreciate the time and effort I put into them.  I would display this on my desk.

I finished off the inside of the card also. The papers in the Ladies Diary are so pretty. I like that the colors are soft. I also put a pocket on the bag and inserted a tag so everyone could sign the tag. This way if she wants to regift the card, she can.

For the diecuts, I used Spellbinders Parisian Motifs and Parisian Accents, I used one more, I think a fancy tags..i think. The bling is from Recollections. The flowers, I Am Roses, are so cute. I don't know the number of the roses. The flower in the top left I glimmer misted and then used clear embossing powder on it. I did not totally care for the way it came out but I will try it again to see what happens.

Hope you enjoyed the card.

Happy Crafting!

Ramdomness

Happy Thursday. one more day....

I have been busy and lazy....and enjoying both. I've also been crafting which beats all. I've learned that I create better (or can me be more focused) with classical & opera music playing. Some of the artist/tunes I found I enjoy are Anna Netrebko & Elina Garanca: flower duet...it sounds so beautiful. Yo-Yo Ma: air & simple gifts, Antonio Wit: Symphony No. 5 in E minor, Op. 64 : I. Andante - Allegro con anima, Anne Akiko Meyers, English Chamber Orchestra,  and on and on. I like being able to hear the different instruments, the crescendos. I don't know the term, but a heavier sounding instrument playing beneath a softer sounding tone; at that moment, hearing the songs duplicity... ahhhh, I am enjoying it!  I'm new to this so I am seeking out music to listen to. I don't think I'm ready or have the time to learn how to listen to opera, but I can still enjoy it.

I have made these cookies at least 6 times and how 'bout the previous time before this one I forgot to add the brown sugar and had to add it AFTER they had sat in the frig. Well, they did not turn out as I liked them but my family still enjoyed them. I put them on a vintage cake tray and what doesn't fit goes in a ziploc.  These cookies do not last long at my house. Thinking about it now, I may make another batch.

Well bloggers, just wanted to send an update. All is well and if it's not it will be.

Be God blessed!

Summer's End

Hello blog friends. Well, summer is almost over...where did it go so quickly? I remember the hot days, but not much else. Anyway, to celebrate [excuse to get together] some old and new friends got together. Thank you Rosa and Joyce for hosting. We always have a good time when. I enjoyed meeting some new people and always like making new friends.

You ever go to a friends home and feel like you're "at home"? That's how I feel at their home. We sat around, laughed, ate, talked, laughed some more, talked some more, and enjoyed each others company.

Helpers in the kitchen always make food better; especially when you get to simply site and enjoy.

This is our comedian. She keeps us laughing.
Enid, always ready.

Oh my goodness, on these two pictures I was trying to use the panoramic setting on my camera. I'm still learning it and I can see where the split was. Some people are not in the picture and some folks were split in half.  The automatic nor the manual setting seemed to match up 100%, but I think that is just user error. Or as a coworker used to say it's the ESTO setting (equipment smarter than operator). I'll figure it out...just hope i can remember the next time I need to use it though. :)

Of course a get together would not be complete with cards or dominoes. I'm not sure who won the game though.

I think these are the "talkers" from right to left. We were laughing about when we have prayer and some folks pray too long (it's a joke). But praying can be long winded at times. Thank God he answers though.

Sitting on the patio relaxing. A few folks went for a late nite swim, but I knew how I was without sleep so turned in early (if you consider past 10pm early). I awoke rested and I know they were glad.

We were missing one person from the picture. I did not think to take a group picture until we everyone was getting ready to leave.

Well I just wanted to share my weekend with you all. I have the greatest sisters and thank God for each of them. I'm looking forward to our next get together/outing. Hope the holiday was relaxing and enjoyed by all.

Have a great Tuesday.

Be blessed.
