Christmas Card Share

Hi crafters,

I've completed a few Christmas cards and am so glad to be doing some Christmas stuff. These will be going to people that I've done swaps with and a few family members. I have a few more to finish (since I die cut a butt load of paper) and I will be making different, more embellished ones for family.

I kept these pretty simple so I could get quite a few done and it worked. I enjoyed using paper pads I'd had for years. I emptied one 6x6 pad and have enough for 1 more card in another 6x6 pad, and I will have gotten rid of them both. yayyyyyyyyyyyyyy

On my WOYWW, I have a few more diecuts to use up. In my "crafting cup" is some homemade iced coffee. Let me preface this by saying, I am becoming a coffee snob and do not like bitter coffee or coffee that smells like wet cigarette ashes. I found this recipe at the Pioneer Woman. Not sure if the cold brew eliminated the burn taste, but this iced coffee is DE-LI-CIOUS.

I'm happy with the amount of cards I've completed. This mess produced all of these beautiful cards.

 The festive gent...I really like him.

 Used some stickers and sequins and the left card and the right one I used a Tim Holtz die with the Recollections Cozy Lodge paper.

 I used a Stamping Up bird punch, MME paper and on the right I used a stamp that this was my first time using even though I've had it forever.

 The card on the left with the gold snowflake is made using scraps that were laid on the diagonal and trimmed. I liked being able to use up those scraps.

 I used a large piece of ribbon to make this card and stamped the Merry Christmas (keep it simple).  The bird is from one of the Michaels $1.50 pack of cards that I trimmed and mounted onto cardstock.

 I used a justrite stamp, a piece of burlap, and a die cut on top of this beautiful piece of cardstock. The right card is using scraps.

 I pulled out a stamp set that I've had for years, embossed and just a few embellishments.

Good Morning, Good Morning, Good Morning.

Before I share my wonderful card, the season's are changing; in the spiritual realm along with everything else. God is so good that He ALWAYS...yes ALWAYS sends a word when you need it.

Before I share the scriptures of what God led me to...all I can say is, He sent His word and healed them [me], and delivered them [me] from their [my] destruction. Sometimes, we go before God asking Him for direction but want to move before we hear or grow impatient. I serve an amazing, merciful, and gracious Lord.

On to the card. One of the Deacon's at my church is celebrating a milestone. I love him dearly and he is such a wonderful person. I know that he will love the card.  I had an idea in my head already inspired from the JustRite gallery.  

Since his birthday is in the fall, i used lots of fall colors.

I stamped the leaves with the Shabby Chic Autumn Leaves and colored and distressed them with the colors above. I didn't want them shiny so I left them as they were. I had some leaves left over that I'm going to use for another project I'm working on.

I wanted the corners to stand out a bit so I glossy accented them and the frame on the inside.

I used the Spellbinders Antique Frame & Accents. Let me tell you, I wanted this die since I saw it. I tried finding it at Michael's and at Joann's but could not. I finally broke down and purchased it off eBay (which means no coupon), but I am so happy I did...it is so versatile and pretty.

Graphic 45 A Ladies Diary Card

Hi blog friends.

I am so far behind in updating my blog. I've been making cards and things, sometimes I take a photo of them and sometimes I do not (forget is more like it). I like to photograph them to look back at how my skills have changed and what styles I like.

I bought the 6x6 paper stack back in June July sometime and loved it. I made this card in July for a family member who was hosting the family reunion. I wanted it to be pretty and something she could proudly display. I enjoy making cards for people who appreciate the time and effort I put into them.  I would display this on my desk.



 I finished off the inside of the card also. The papers in the Ladies Diary are so pretty. I like that the colors are soft. I also put a pocket on the bag and inserted a tag so everyone could sign the tag. This way if she wants to regift the card, she can.

For the diecuts, I used Spellbinders Parisian Motifs and Parisian Accents, I used one more, I think a fancy tags..i think. The bling is from Recollections. The flowers, I Am Roses, are so cute. I don't know the number of the roses. The flower in the top left I glimmer misted and then used clear embossing powder on it. I did not totally care for the way it came out but I will try it again to see what happens.

I have been busy

Hi everyone and welcome to this beautiful Saturday at Chocolate Purples.

It's the weekend and I finally completed some cards and got them mailed out. The inspiration for this card came from Random Acts of Creativity. I've learned that I need to create a calendar that sits on my desk that has b-day's, anniversary, holidays...at a glance for the month. I need to work a month ahead.

My mother's day cards were late, well some on time and some late.

I liked the butterfly on the card, I thought it made it real summery and you know butterflies like flowers

I got to use some brads and ribbon that is always out of sign. The sentiment I did on the computer. The inside has coordinating card stock. For me it finishes the look of the card.



This card gave me a fight. I tried using glue instead of using up my adhesive and the glue would not hold. I had to apply it maybe 2- 3 times, but it finally stuck. You can see the warps/waves in the embossed layer. Not sure what I did, but it adds a bit of uniqueness to the card. I was happy with it. I was excited to finally get to use some of my Stampin' Up stamps. I used the same sentiment for both cards. I used the spellbinders (I believe labels 9).

I also made an envelope for the inside of this card. I'm trying to use up/recycle the packing paper that comes in the packages. I used some fiskars scissors to make the edge a bit more frilly.

This card was a last minute card. I usually send my aunt a birthday card. I got the calendar reminder, but got busy doing other things and totally forgot to send one.
I have tons of cards that I've bought over the years for last minute sending, but since I started making cards, I wanted to send her a handmade one. It's simple and I hope she likes it.

My mom's birthday is Monday, and I made her a simple card. The floral paper is what I liked most and wanted to use on the card. I didn't have any brown bias tape so I used some Tim Holtz vintage photo to die the ribbon and it came out pretty good. The card has a more vintage look than what I was going for, but overall I like it. 

I want to get more organized, I want to start sharing with you all what papers and embellishments I use. I'm so excited and proud of the work I do. I must admit, I don't always like the outcome and am sometimes challenged coming up with an idea, but I'm learning so much.
